2003-2007 Honda S2000
2003-2004 Porsche Boxster S
BMW Z4M
2003-2004 Miata (NB)
If you had 15k to spend, which way would you go?

Honda or Miata.

Probably a high mileage C5 Corvette

S2000 because I’m biased, and also 9K redline.

Almost went the s2k route myself before switching last second to a stock low mile WRX hatch

Are Z4M’s really $15k?
If that’s the case they’re a fucking steal. They are awesomely fun.

Exactly

For $15K they’re amazing. No question.

Having driven a coupe and a roadster I’ll go ahead and disagree with that.

For me, it is about which one is even available for the price, they are all brilliant cars to drive, or ride along in for that matter (can’t speak for the Z4, but the Z3 drives nicely)
If miata is a factory turbo miata, then miata.
If the bmw can be found without heinous mileage, and with a manual, then bmw. Bmw must also come with a mandatory service history binder for that price..
If s2k has viper motor (as seen on oppo/jalopnik) or well thought out mods, (track suspension but not “stanced” and maybe headers and an exhaust), then s2k
Forget the porsche, unless it has sub 80k miles and is a well documented example, much like the bmw.

I’ll get the Porsche, because I’m 16, and nothing gets a girl going like the words “I own a Porsche"

S2k, brah.

Kind of off subject, but with all recent ND Miata news, I wonder which of these cars are “better” than it, price aside. Everyone is gushing about the ND, but I can’t help thinking that an S2000 would deliver the same or better thrills, for half the price. Apples and oranges, yes, but if the goal is the most fun 2 seat roadster you can buy, what wins?
For 15k, I’d go S2k though.

15k is two miatas, right?
But s2000 for real.

Doesn’t even need to be particularly high mileage. For $15k you could probably get one under 70k miles

Child boo. I'm always right.

No. All used examples are in the 20-25K range, minimum.
Love the Z4M Coupe, haven’t tried the convertible.

I’d take a Z4M over an S2000, Miata, 370Z any day. Driven my buddies M Coupe in the canyons and its great, sure the convertible losing something but “okay at best” is not how I would describe it. The engine has grunt, the looks are spot on.. nice package.

actually I found some in the high teens.

I need to get out of the San Fran bay area lol, where there is an automatic $1-3K bump on used gearhead cars.

From what I’ve heard, the coupe and and convertible are extremely different, driving-wise.
